Are people being too trusting? Have they failed to heed wise words of warning. Is it absurdly naive to allow unnecessary smart monitoring devices into our lives, when the reality is that the vast majority or us have little knowledge of, or control over, such technology. Considering that the companies involved in production have proven themselves untrustworthy, and that legislation is woefully behind with regards to implementing law to exercise proper control over such potentially destructive tools, would it not be prudent to reject further intrusion into our private lives, or even to perhaps claw back some control already surrendered?

Additionally should national education programs be rolled out to ensure more people understand the vulnerabilities that they open themselves up to, and the potential consequences for the continued existence of democracy. When we open ourselves up to further manipulation via extreme targeting of propaganda, while handing over fuel for smear campaigns, or even blackmail against us, we can lose our vote to profiteering puppeteers, and be easily battered down should we raise our heads above the parapet to speak out.
